I guess this is a very tricky one to code but it matters.
For example: if I choose "Mister Test" and all the account names are free (such as twitter.com/MisterTest www.MisterTest.com etc.) but there is still a musician called Mister Test on Spotify, or a Youtube User called Mister Test (with another User ID), then it might still not be practical to register the name.1 vote
While I agree that this may be worthwhile, it’d be tough to achieve using Namevine’s update-as-you-type system.
Also, my feeling is that whoever has the actual vanity URL/username stands a better chance at branding more effectively on whatever social media platform they’re using.
However, I’d like to understand your use case a little better so I’ll follow up with an email shortly.

There are lot of social networks missing like linkedin, crokes.com , instagram, hi5 and many more add them

To avoid cluttering the site, I’m hesitant to add more than couple of additional lookups. Instagram and LinkedIn are the most likely, along with potentially Wordpress.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m really sorry your results were inaccurate.
In about 5% of cases domain lookups are inaccurate, this is the price that is paid for making the search so fast. Of course when you click through to your favorite registrar, it’ll do a full check to ensure availability.
Facebook page availability is also sometimes a problem, it’s impossible to get 100% accuracy there for your search, but Namevine does the best job out of any comparable service.
There are some more details on the Namevine “about” page: http://blog.namevine.com/about/
If you’re willing to share your searches, I can update Namevine to be smarter about those results. Please email if you’d like to. I understand if you want to keep your searches confidential.

Having it working would be great! Nice piece of furniture!1 vote
Namevine right now requires a modern browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari or IE 9+) to work. If you’re seeing this issue in any of those browser I’ll address this immediately.
Thanks, Mike / Namevine
