  1. Scam?

Been using your site for a months I have been looking for a web brand. Finally found something I liked a was showing available across the board. Went back to it several times today and left it on my screen. Went to register it a few hours later and low and behold the site was all of a sudden taken and is now for sale. The also registered fb and Instagram. Amazing coincidence huh? Are you scraping names that your users are searching for?

  3. A check box by each service like twitter

A check box by each service like twitter where searched name is available to register and submit button next page should list their sign up pages. When you enter name it should enter name in all forms and so forth. You can charge a fee for using this service. If you explain effectively what the service is going to offer people will buy it.

  6. I don't understand...

Every domain that I have found on here has already been taken when I go to register it? Are the names that are displayed not checked to see if they are available first?

    Hi Austin,

There is a slight chance that some registered names are shown as available. I describe it here (http://blog.namevine.com/about) under “Why Does Namevine Tell Me a Domain or Social Media Account is Available, But It Is Really Unavailable?”

If you’d like me to look closer to your specific searches please reply to this via your email (you should receive this response as an email).

    Thanks, Mike / Namevine

  7. Get this site working as intended

Many of the domains you have a available are not available, such as web.com or the facebook account interface

I type in so many names. And write them down separately on a pice of paper. It would be nice if the site could save these into categories of some sort.

  12. Perhaps Vimeo too then...

...as I see one can pick a username there too. (The biggest advantage of Vimeo over Youtube is the ability to overwrite an already uploaded video with an updated/redacted version.)

Vimeo is a great suggestion as well. I’m thinking in order to avoid overwhelming a user I’d segment the possible account lookups into various categories like: social networks, video sites, etc.

    Thanks! Mike / Namevine

  13. Do a check on displayed names, not only user names (URLs)

I guess this is a very tricky one to code but it matters.

For example: if I choose "Mister Test" and all the account names are free (such as twitter.com/MisterTest www.MisterTest.com etc.) but there is still a musician called Mister Test on Spotify, or a Youtube User called Mister Test (with another User ID), then it might still not be practical to register the name.

    Hi Rutger,

While I agree that this may be worthwhile, it’d be tough to achieve using Namevine’s update-as-you-type system.

Also, my feeling is that whoever has the actual vanity URL/username stands a better chance at branding more effectively on whatever social media platform they’re using.

However, I’d like to understand your use case a little better so I’ll follow up with an email shortly.

  17. Bring in new TLD

Any plans on bringing the new TLD's to Namevine? (like .technology, .photography, .guru, etc.)

  18. Is it possible to generate a list of Twitter handle suggestions instead of domain names?

I love the generator but find myself using it sometimes to get ideas for a cool twitter handle. Doing a search for handles would be mucho cool. Thanks for your awesome site.

  19. Is there a way of searching .co.uk domains on namevine?

As the title says I love the lean and quick service provided however I really could use the uk domains as I end up having to double search still.

    Thank you

    Hi Adam,

I have been planning to build a Namevine widget, it would involve simply adding one line of HTML on to your site.

Which domain extensions and social networks are important for you to offer on your site?

As for API access, that’s a premium service, I’ll email you to discuss.

    Mike / Namevine
